About
Hello, my name is Helia Wagmacker, and I’m so glad you’re here.
Whether you have followed Jesus for many years, are rebuilding your faith, or are simply curious about God, there is a place for you here.
My Calling
Jesus found me as a teenager carrying trauma and pain and drew me out of a darkness I couldn’t name into a life of freedom, joy, and purpose.
At sixteen, I sensed God calling me to teach His Word—and that calling has never left me.
My mission is to help people understand the Bible for themselves, grow in sound theology, and discover how God’s truth speaks into real life. I am also passionate about encouraging and equipping others to teach and share Scripture with love, clarity, and confidence.
I don’t believe the Bible was given merely to fill our minds with information. Through His Word, God reveals who He is, renews the way we think, heals what is wounded within us, and transforms how we live.
Ministry
I’m a Bible teacher, Christian speaker, writer, and the founder of More of God Ministry.
For more than twenty years, I have taught Scripture at conferences, in classrooms, small groups, discipleship settings, and online.
In 2016, I began sharing what God was teaching me through my Portuguese blog, Café com Deus—“Coffee with God.” Since then, I have also written for Christian blogs and magazines and shared biblical teaching through my podcast.
I’m currently writing my first book about the wounded trust many of us carry in our relationship with God—and the journey toward healing, freedom, and renewed faith.
Why More of God?
We spend so much of our lives pursuing the things we hope will finally make us feel secure, fulfilled, and complete: success, relationships, achievement, or better circumstances.
These things may be meaningful, but they cannot do what only God can.
We don’t need more from God; we need more of God.
Our deepest longing is ultimately a longing for Him. Helping people know God, trust Him, and grow closer to Jesus is the heartbeat behind everything I do.
A Little More About Me
I live in Houston, Texas, with my husband, Jorge, and our daughter, Lisa.
I was born in Brazil and have called the United States home for more than twenty years.
I communicate in Portuguese, English, and Spanish—a gift that has deepened my love for the beauty and diversity of God’s global Church.
When I’m not teaching or writing, you’ll usually find me reading, traveling, walking outdoors, or discovering another culture.
